Beyonce became the holder of a record number of "Grammys" in history, according to results from the 65th award ceremony on February 5 in Los Angeles. The singer was awarded four awards in the categories “Best Dance/Electronica Recording” (for track “Break My Soul”), “Best R&B Performance” (for track “Plastic Off the Sofa”), “Best Dance/Electronica Album” (for album “Renaissance”) and “Best R&B Song” (for song "Cut It").
The best album of the year was Harryʼs House by Harry Styles, the recording of the year being About Damn Time by Lizzo, and the song of the year Just Like That by Bonnie Raitt. The best new artist was named as Samantha Joy.
With the addition of new awards, Beyonce now has a total of 32 Grammys. Previously, conductor Georg Solti held the record with 31 awards.
This year Beyonce was nominated for the Grammy Awards in nine categories, bringing her total number of nominations throughout her career to 88. This puts her in a tie with her husband, rapper Jay-Z, for the most nominations ever.
